This are the roles and the responsibilities of the officers serving in the Government Remuneration Tribunal;
Director
The overall responsibility of the Director;
- For advice on matters relating to remuneration to the tribunal and the Government under the Tribunal responsibilities.
- Discharge in a lawful and ethical manner the responsibilities of the Tribunal under the GRT Act. [CAP 250].
- Ensure high standard of Analyst and Review and Quality submissions to the Tribunal and prompt action taken on decision.
- Manage the office of the Tribunal through efficient, effective and economic management of the program and activities under the Tribunal’s responsibilities.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the Corporate Plan, Annual Plan, Annual Budget, and Annual Reporting requirements of the Tribunal.
- Provide strategic direction, efficient control and leadership of the Department.
Principal Remuneration Analyst
The overall responsibility of the Principal Remuneration Analyst;
- Develop and implement, on the approval of the Tribunal, an equitable and financially sustainable remuneration framework.
- Carryout and/or participate in macro and micro economic studies/research/surveys on remuneration.
- Monitoring implementation of individual work plans for Department staff. Consult with Other Government Ministries Department, Statutory Bodies, Stated Own Enterprises and other important stakeholders on matters relating Remuneration.
- Advise the Director and/or the Tribunal on technical matters relating to Remuneration.
Remuneration Analyst
The overall responsibility of the Remuneration Analyst;
- To contributes to the development and maintenance including stakeholder communication of remuneration structures (including Job Grades and Salary Grades)in line with the required parameters.
- Conduct data analysis for assigned projects as needed ensuring timely and accurate materials for review and decision making.
- Analyse remuneration data and market surveys data to support the Tribunal in the design, implementation, administration of fair, market based and sustainable remuneration package.
- Generate reports in relation to remuneration from HRM and Financial Management Information system for internal use and leadership review.
- Perform other duties as may be require from Director and/or the Principal Remuneration Analyst.
Secretary Clerk
The overall responsibility of the Secretary;
- Coordinating and allocates resources of the Tribunal in an efficient manner.
- Record and maintain meeting discussion and decision of the Tribunal.
- Maintain in an efficient manner incoming and outgoing communication with stakeholders.
- Efficient and up to date filing system and maintained to high standard.
- Reports to Director on matters impacting on the General office administration of the Tribunal.
