Our work is to adopt principles of consistency, economy of resources, and disciplines in determining the remuneration of those persons employed by, or appointed to positions by, the Government or by an agency of Government.
These Determinations by the Government Remuneration Tribunal was done in accordance to COM Decision No.068 and achieved in 2024 of which government employees in the public service, teaching service, the police, parliament and those under the Official Salaries Act received a pay rise. The last increase was in 2017 when the GRT made its first decision after its formation in 1999 to increase the salary of all government workers. On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, the three-member Board of the Government Remuneration Tribunal (GRT) – Chairperson, Saby Natonga, Vice Chair, Nigel Malosu, and Member Rosemary Leonard, signed the documents approving the pay rise effective on 17 December 2024
